Memory Quilt, 2002, 200cmx140cm, free machine embroidery on pieced fabrics.

A family memory quilt, made up of 199 fragments of fabric that had been left-over from projects across the years including wedding dress fabrics from two generations.  Each fragment is embroidered with words that refer to a specific memory which is recorded in detail in an accompanying book.

The quilt is overlaid with the biographical information of the present three generations on both sides of the family tree, and the biographical details of the previous generation, (the children's great grandparents) are on an underlying layer that is visible through transparent areas of the quilt.
